Santa Monica Pier. Golden hour. A breakdancing crew we'll call "The Flippers" had just stuck the landing on their finale, passed the bucket, and started loading out. Crystal and I were walking by when it happened. Tyler turned to another crew member and let him have it, full volume, full chest, in front of God and tourists and the Ferris wheel:

"NAH! YOU AIN'T DA HOMIE! YOU AIN'T BEEN DA HOMIE FOR A WHILE NOW…!!!"

The pier went quiet. Seagulls paused. Whatever the other guy did, it was bad enough that Tyler skipped the side conversation and went straight to public sentencing. We tried to keep walking. We failed. We laughed the entire way back to the car. So we did what any reasonable couple running a fan art sticker brand would do: we went home and made a sticker out of it.
